Paul McCartney and Johnny Cash once turned a full moon over Jamaica into an unlikely country collaboration. Paul co-wrote, produced and sang on “New Moon Over Jamaica,” while also playing his Höfner bass. Linda McCartney, June Carter Cash and Tom T. Hall provided backing vocals, with Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick helping record it.
The funniest part is that Cash knew the moon that inspired the title was actually full, not new.
