JULY 8, 1973: Willie Nelson took the stage for a taping of the Armadillo Country Music Review broadcasted live by KLRU (then KLRN). Sharing that night’s bill: Michael Martin Murphey, Billy Joe Shaver, Diamond Rio, Greezy Wheels, and D.K. Little.

The live concept was picked up by the station, and along with some of the Armadillo cohort, further developed into the series AUSTIN CITY LIMITS, broadcasting uninterrupted since 1975 ???? #acl50
